Singapore To Abolish Second Link Motorcycle Toll Charges

Singapore has announced that it will match Malaysia’s removal of motorcycle toll charges at the Second Link. The Singaporean Ministry of Transport said that the ruling will go into effect on 21 January.

The move is in line with Singapore’s policy of matching Malaysia’s toll rates, and will see motorcyclists free from the S$0.40 toll when crossing at the Tuas Checkpoint.

The Malaysian government had originally announced that the removal of tolls at the Second Link during the tabling of the 2019 Budget. It was intended to alleviate the financial burden on those who cross into Singapore for work.

According to The Star, this move will benefit over 50,000 residents of Johor Baru who use the causeway daily.
