Spotify Increases Premium Subscription Plans Fee For Malaysians
Are you a Spotify Premium user? It looks like you have to pay a bit more for the music streaming service. Starting from September onwards, Malaysians will experience an increase in subscription fees for both the Premium Individual plan and the Family plan.
Initially, Spotify made the announcement of price hikes for its premium service back in July. At that time, Malaysia was not part of the list of countries mentioned.
But an update on 1 August showed that they’ve added Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, Czechia, Hungary, Romania, and Saudi Arabia to that list.
Malaysians to pay between RM1 to RM1.70 extra per month
In general, you can expect to pay between RM1 to RM1,70 extra per month, depending on the type of plan that you are signed up for. Do note that the new pricing will take effect on your next billing cycle in September.
Here’s the new pricing for all Spotify premium plans with the new price hike:
- Spotify Premium Mini – RM0.75 per day (no hike)
- Spotify Premium Individual RM15.90 per month (a price hike of RM1)
- Spotify Premium Duo – RM21.50 per month (a price hike of RM1.70)
- Spotify Premium Family – RM24.90 per month (a price hike of RM1.10)
- Spotify Premium Student – RM8.50 per month (a price hike of RM1)
