Donald Trump Arrested On Election Charges, Mugshot Released
Former US president Donald Trump has surrendered himself to authorities in Georgia under charges of attempting to overturn the US state election results back in 2020.
This is Trump’s fourth indictment. There were three priors. The earliest case was related to “hush money” allegedly paid to adult film star Stormy Daniels in 2016. This was followed in 2022 with allegations of “willful retention” of national security information in his Mar-a-Lago private estate. Most recently, Trump was indicted on felony charges for allegedly trying to interfere with the peaceful transfer of power after losing the 2020 election.
What makes this fourth indictment different is that it’s the first time Trump’s mugshot was taken and subsequently released to the public.
Fulton County authorities have also taken mugshots of all 19 people charged in the case. They include Rudy Giuliani and Sydney Powell, Trump’s lawyers as well as former chief of staff Mark Meadows.
Trump did not stay long as he left the jail immediately after being processed and taking a mugshot as he was released on a $200,000 bond.
The trial date for Trump’s fourth indictment has not been set yet with prosecutor District Attorney Fani Willis requesting for the trial to begin on Oct. 23 of this year.
