The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has decided to extend the feedback collection period for Budget 2024, following favourable response from the public.

The feedback collection period, which was slated to end  on 15 September 2023 has been extended for another week until 22 September 2023.

According to a report from MalayMail, MoF has received over 9,500 responses from the public on Budget 2024 through the official portal.

In the Budget 2024 portal, the general public are given the opportunity to give feedback or suggestions on what they’d like to see. This initiative is done so that the government will be able to collate ideas and get a sense of what are the chief concerns among Malaysians that can be addressed within the framework of Budget 2024.

One of the major challenges that the budget is expected to address is the rising cost of living, which is exacerbated by the rising cost of essential goods.

Budget 2024 is set to be tabled on 13 October 2023.
