Angel investors invest their own money, where the typical amount in Malaysia is not more than RM2 million. Since angel investors are very often individuals that have held executive positions at large corporations, they can often provide fantastic advice and introductions to the entrepreneur, in addition to the funds.
To encourage more high net worth individuals and high income earners to join the angel investment game, Cradle Fund, an agency under the Ministry of Finance, Malaysia accredit local technology start-ups and allow angel investors to claim tax deductions on their investment.
