ARC Group Offer Businesses In M’sia A Bridge To Middle East And US Markets

Together with its PR and communications partner The IBR Asia Group, global investment bank ARC Group recently showcased to the media its Wealth Management Division key role in enabling capital markets transactions in Malaysia.
ARC Group had recently gained the Category 4 (CAT4) licence by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). In addition, it is now providing registered broker-dealer services via its boutique US investment banking firm Objective Equity LLC.
Full suite of financial services
With a CAT4 licence from the FRSA of ADGM, ARC Group is now able to offer its full suite of services and solutions to entities in ADGM. These developments will help ARC Group offer clients in Malaysia a bridge to the Middle East and US markets.
ARC Group co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Abraham Cinta shared how ARC Group has helped companies in Asia venture to overseas capital markets, particularly in the United States.
He added that Malaysia also played a key role in making the company a leading champion of SPACs (Special Purpose Acquisition Companies. Malaysia is also the second largest market for ARC Group, accounting for 30% of its business.
SPAC’s growing appeal vs IPOs
ARC Group’s Venture Partner, Datuk Seri Paul Chong highlighted why it is so attractive to companies seeking listing compared with initial public offerings (IPOs). Among the key reasons for the growing interest in SPAC within the region are its lower costs and faster transition times. He added that one of the key attractions of the US capital markets is its looser listing rules.
Giving Grab as an example, he revealed that Grab was initially turned down for listing in the ACE markets of Bursa Malaysia as it had not turned a profit. As a result, it eventually went for a SPAC on NASDAQ with a valuation of US$40 billion – the largest in history.
