HSBC Celebrates 140 Years Of Financial Excellence
HSBC Malaysia has recently celebrated its 140th year anniversary in the country. To commemorate the momentous occasion, Dato’ Omar Siddiq, CEO of HSBC Malaysia unveiled the installation of a statue of the bank’s lion mascot, Stitt, at the Menara IQ building, located within the new international hub for finance and business at Tun Razak Exchange (TRX).
HSBC’s iconic lion is more than just a mascot. It is a symbol of growth and prosperity, and was first installed at HSBC’s Shanghai branch in 1923. The lions proved so popular that they now guard many HSBC offices around the world, including Malaysia.
“For the past 140 years, HSBC has played a key role in Malaysia’s growth and development. Since opening the doors to our first office in Penang in 1884, we have supported and continue to support our customers and communities, growing and prospering together,” said Dato’ Omar.
The installation of the lion now at our Malaysia headquarters at Menara IQ is a concrete representation of our dedication to our clients over the past 140 years and for years to come”, he added.
HSBC Malaysia has been making extensive efforts to improve the quality and efficiency of their services and offerings recently. One notable example is the launch of the HSBC TravelOne Credit Card last year which seeks to offer customers an unparalleled level of convenience with access to instant reward redemptions.
