JPJ Announces 50% Discount For Traffic Fines Starting Today
The Transport Minister, Anthony Loke has announced that the Road Transport Ministry (JPJ) is offering a 50% discount on compounds for selected traffic fines, starting today.
According to a Facebook posting on JPJ, the three compounds that are applicable for this 50% discount is as follows;
- AwAS summonses (53a summonses) – from October 2018 until now;
- Notice 114 (investigation summonses) – from 2023 and below and,
- Notice 115 / Notice JPJ P23 – from 2023 and below.
Usually, the compound charged for these type of traffic offences is RM300. For a period starting from today (3rd January 2025) until 30th of June 2025, the compound charged will be RM150.
According to the same JPJ Facebook posting, JPJ stated that during this six months period of discount, no demerit points will be allocated to drivers. Additionally, the demerit points system will be studied.
Here’s how you can check and pay your summonses
If you want to check if you have any outstanding JPJ summonses, JPJ’s Facebook posting also listed down avenues where you can check for any outstanding summonses;
- MyJPJ app,
- MySIKAP portal,
- JPJ kiosk
- JPJ mobile and,
- JPJ counters
The payment for these summonses can also be made through the same avenues.
Pay before 30th June or else
The Transport Minister also warned that anyone who fails to pay their summonses before 30th June, will not be allowed to renew their road taxes or driving licence.
