Khazanah More Than Triples Their Profit In Financial Year 2023

Khazanah has recorded a profit of RM5.9 billion from their operations for the financial year of 2023 (FY2023), which is almost triple of the profit they recorded in 2022, which was recorded at RM1.6 billion.

According to Khazanah’s Managing Director, Datuk Amirul Feisal Wan Zahir, Khazanah’s stronger performance was driven by higher dividends and distributions from investee companies, fair value gains, and capital preservation.

Announced government dividend amounting to RM1 billion

In a report from Bernama, Amirul stated that while 2023 was a fairly challenging year for both Khazanah and the global markets, due to a slowdown in elevated inflation, tight monetary conditions, a concentrated push for Artificial Intelligence, weak growth in China, and ongoing political conflicts.

However, Khazanah managed to remain resilient, and showed careful discipline when allocating their capital, which allowed them to deliver sustainable returns while still investing for the future, Amirul told the media at the Khazanah Annual Review yesterday,

Khazanah, which is a sovereign wealth fund, also announced a better dividend for the government amounting to RM1 billion, which brings the total dividend paid to the government to RM18.1 billion since 2004.
