Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd has recently made the announcement that it has expanded its payment systems. Passengers are now able to utilise credit and debit cards at all of its stations.
According to an update on Rapid KL’s social media, the cards can be used to purchase tickets for the LRT, MRT, Monorail, and BRT; as well as top up Touch ‘n Go cards and My50 and MyCity passes.
Debit and credit cards can be used at all Rapid KL counters
The cards can be used at all Rapid KL customer service counters and are meant to complement existing cash and QR code payment methods.
Just note that this payment option still requires passengers to buy a token at the counter. To clarify, it does not work in the same way as cashless TNG payments at the turnstile.
Cashless transaction process
The update goes on to state that the new payment methods are being implemented to enhance the efficiency of the purchasing process for Rapid KL customers. They will no longer be required to carry cash or find an ATM machine as the transaction process will now be safer and smoother.
It was also stated that the new payment methods are in line with Rapid Rail’s commitment to always improve the existing purchasing systems and meet consumer needs by giving them a more positive experience when using Rapid KL services.
