Sarawak Will Join Forces With EU In Energy Production Sector
The Premier of Sarawak, Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has announced that the state will be cooperating with the European Union to push the state to the forefront of clean energy production.
The collaboration will be part of the Sarawak’s ongoing efforts in combating climate change by producing clean energy.
According to a report from Bernama, the collaboration will involve technological development, especially in hydrogen production.
Abang Johari announced the coming collaboration during a speech at the dinner event held in conjunction with the launch of Invest Sarawak and Business Day in Kuching yesterday,
In his speech, he stated that he expects the cost of hydrogen production to become cheaper in the next five to 10 years, especially when taking into account the rising costs of fossil fuels.
He also stated in his speech that Sarawak is taking the issue of global warming seriously, and that they are trying their best to help reduce carbon emissions and the impact of climate change.
According to the Malaysia Population Research Hub, Malaysia produces more CO2 emissions than the world average.
