It was recently announced that up to a total of 200,000 Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) recipients who fall under the “poor” category based on e-kasih data will receive Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARa) which amounts to RM600 starting on 17 July 2023.
The financial aid is primarily meant to help the less fortunate obtain food supplies to meet basic needs and reduce the cost of living.
According to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the aid is given through the Social Protection for the Needy initiative and is the first step towards realising the Madani economic narrative ahead of the tabling of the Madani Budget 2024 in October.
Earlier last month, applicants who were not successful were also asked to file their appeal with LHDN.
