Tabung Haji Dividend Will Likely Be Announced In April

Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar, a Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department of Religious Affair, has revealed that the announcement and review of Tabung Haji (TH) dividends for the financial year 2033 can be expected to be done in April, following the conclusion of a full audit.

He also mentioned that this follows warnings received from the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) previously to conduct a comprehensive audit before any dividend distribution is done.

“Now is the time for the audit to be carried out, so God willing by April we will announce the dividend,” he said after receiving visiting zakat recipients, as reported by Bernama.

When asked regarding any good news for depositors with regards to dividends this year, Nai’m remained hopeful that the TH top management will find the best way to balance reasonable dividend payments without compromising the financial assistance provided to Hajj pilgrims in the B40 and M40 groups.

“Now, the issue with TH is how to balance it out, because it’s the same fund; if we give high dividends, it will reduce financial aid to B40 and M40 Hajj pilgrims,” said Nai’m.

“So the top management of TH, I hope to be able to think and find the best way to ensure that a reasonable dividend is given to depositors, and at the same time without affecting the Hajj assistance to depositors who sit under the B40 and M40 categories,” he added.
