Toll Discounts At LDP, Sprint & PLUS Highways For Raya 2016
Motorists can enjoy discount of 20 send and 60 sen in conjunction of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri holiday on the Sprint and Damansara-Puchong (LDP) Highways respectively, and 30% discount on PLUS highways.
The discount for LDP and Sprint will begin at midnight untul 11.59pm the following day, said Sazally Saidi, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Lingkaran Trans Kota Sdn Bhd (Litrak).
To encourage more electronic transactions at the toll booths, PLUS will be offering 30% toll rebate to motorists who pay via PLUSMiles and Touch ‘n Go card or SmartTAGs this holiday.
The toll rebate will be given to Class 1 Vehicle users paying toll electronically on Off-Peak Days on July 4, 8 and 11, and not on the first and second day of Hari Raya. It is is offered to those travelling more than 100 kilometres on the PLUS highways.
This effort is part of the initiative to distribute traffic and encourage motorists to travel on off-peak days.
The public will be charged the full toll, but the rebate can be redeemed in the form of toll reload at PLUS customer service centres between August 15, 2016 and November 14, 2016.
“It is expected that almost 492,000 motorists using the LDP and Sprint highways will benefit from the toll subsidy of RM235,000 from Litrak,” Sazally said.
A total of RM8.6 million toll subsidies were given to almost 13.1 million LDP and Sprint users during the major festive seasons in Malaysia between 2010 and 2015, added Sazally.
