WCE West Coast Expressway

The Works Ministry has announced that users of the newly launched Section 6 of the West Coast Expressway (WCE) will enjoy free toll until January next year.

The Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi announced the windfall for WCE users in his speech while launching the newly opened Section 6 of the WCE highway earlier this week.

In his launching speech, Alexander said that originally the plan was to let users enjoy free toll only until 20th December 2023, but taking into account the year end holidays, the Works Ministry has seen fit to extend the toll exemption period to 2nd January 2024.

The toll-free exemption will be applied to users who are entering Section 6 from the Bandar Bukit Raja Utara toll plaza to Assam Jawa toll plaza or vice-versa.

However, users entering the WCE from Section 5 (from Bandar Bukit Raja Selatan toll plaza to Assam Jawa toll plaza or vice versa), the existing toll rates will be charged as usual.

Section 6 of the WCE is 21.8KMs long, and will connect road users from Kapar to Assam Jawa. The newly opened section will also help travellers save time, as Section 6 cuts down on the travel time from the two regions to just 15 minutes, compared to 45 minutes using the existing route.
