Although we’re barely into 2024, we might already be seeing the wedding of the year in Prince Abdul Mateen’s wedding with Anisha Isa Kalebic, which is underway right now.
In fact, some people are already touting the royal wedding as the wedding of the decade.
The royal wedding which will last 10 days is underway
The royal wedding, which will last ten days, started with a Khatam Quran ceremony last Sunday. The 10-day event will feature a host of lavish extravagances such as a parade, performances, a pageant, and a banquet.
Prince Abdul Mateen, the groom, is the fourth son and tenth child of Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, the Sultan and Prime Minister of Brunei. The Sultan of Brunei is one of Asia’s wealthiest men, and Prince Mateen has always been known as one of the world’s most eligible bachelors in the world.
In his interview with GQ Thailand, Prince Abdul Mateen described himself as a ‘simple person’, and was looking for similar qualities in his women.

His fiancee, Anisha Isa Kalebic, is the granddaughter of Pehin Dato Isa, the Sultan’s special advisor. According to reports, Anisha is a thriving businesswoman in her own right as well, being the frontrunner of the fashion brand Silk Collective, and a co-owner of a tourism company called Authentirary.

Wedding of the year
Although it’s a worthy candidate for the coveted ‘wedding of the year’ title, it’s not without its challengers.
Other royal weddings scheduled to happen this year includes the seventh Duke of Westminster, Hugh Grosvenor’s and Olivia Henson’s wedding.
